The cute city centre of Bratislava with its wending alleyways, wonderful museums and – of course – the higher leafier neighbourhoods around the castle are where most people start their explorations of Bratislava. The overwhelming majority, however, seem to have their sights set just on the castle, St Martin’s Cathedral and getting something to eat on the pretty – but incredibly touristy – street of Michalská. This is the equivalent of going to Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Westminster Cathedral and Buckingham Palace and saying you’ve seen London. This comparison we make to emphasise that there’s an awful lot more to see. Central Bratislava is a specialist in the dinky, the curious, the bizarre museums and the forgotten old winding 18th-century street when it comes to its USPs so please – whether through this blog or through another source – take the trouble to discover them!!
