It’s hard to find out much about the legendary Open Cellar Days in and around Bratislava in English (they only happen a couple of times each year). So voila.
THE NEXT ONES ARE OVER THE WEEKEND OF MAY 23/24
These are days when lots of the wineries from the Malé Karpaty (Small Carpathians) wine region open their doors for tastings: of their new wine (just made this autumn and incredibly sweet but still delicious) and of course more mature vintages.
For those that are still in some doubt where that means they should really head, then try:
Stara Rača (Old Rača) (that’s the north-easternmost suburb of Bratislava) MAP
Svätý Jur (further along the same road, 502; the first town you encounter outside Bratislava) – CHECK OUR POST ON WHAT TO DO THERE!
Limbach (a little further along Rte 502) – CHECK OUR POST ON WHAT TO DO THERE!
Pezinok (a little further along Rte 502)
Modra (a little further along Rte 502) – CHECK OUR POST ON MODRA’S CERAMICS!
And see all four latter locations on this MAP
