Robert Capa’s Photography

Until 25th November the Slovak National Gallery (Námestie Ľudovíta Štúra 4; that’s the site just back from the Danube) has a surprisingly good exhibition on the photography of Robert Capa. Capa was known as a war photographer, but don’t let that (as a somewhat oppressive subject) put you off. This will get you thinking about the medium of photography in a myriad different ways as you see such insightful pictures as a cafe scene where, right beside a group of sophisticated drinkers, you see a man being shaved, or a London air-raid shelter where, despite the devastation, afternoon tea is still being served. It’s €3.50 to look round.
